The Honda Civic Si is a sporty, compact version of the Civic released by Honda. Si (Sport Injected-sports-charged) version was presented as the third generation of Honda Civic cars in Japan and North America. In Canada, more commonly known as the SiR for the sixth and seventh generations, and the Si was equivalent to the USDM EX model.
For the Japanese and European market, the Civic Type R was adapted as a high-performance version of the Civic, starting with the EK9 hatchback for Japan in 1996, then the EP3 hatchback for Europe in 2001. In North America, the type R console was never used for Honda cars (only for Acura Integra), and the siSiR badge still continued to mean a high-performance car. The Civic Si contrasts well with the “Spartan” and more adapted to driving on the track Type R, which has the worst sound insulation has smaller rooms, all of which are replaced with the best performance and to position itself as a fully-equipped sports car, boasting such luxury options as sunroof and a sound system with seven speakers.
