Honda Civic Type R – sports version of Honda Civic. The letter R in the word “Type R” comes from the English word racing, and denotes the sporty character of the car (as in other Honda cars with the letter “R” at the end of its name — Type R, Euro R, SIR, a characteristic feature of which is the emblem of Honda on a red background — as the car RA-272, which brought the Japanese brand the first victory in the Grand Prix Formula 1 in Mexico, in 1965).
