About
So this is a little meme mod that was originally a small snippet of larger mod with different focus. However since it looks like that one is not going to be released any time soon, I have decided to rework the Papacy and release it as standalone mod. Please, keep in mind that not only is this my first completed mod and that it’s still very much WIP, but it was also originally just pretty much an Easter Egg in a different mod. So apologies if it does not offer the depth of other, more comprehensive mods. I will be grateful for any feedback or improvement tips as well as bug reports.
That being said – Have fun and Deus Vult!
Also, it should be obvious that this is not a very historical mod. However it is not entirely tongue-in-cheek meme either.
Features – The Papal State is releasable via decision by anyone who owns Rome. So if you want to play as the Pope, you need to release the country – via decision – as Italy first.
– Simple focus tree based around slightly modified generic focus tree with 4 distinct political paths
– Kingdom of Jerusalem can be reformed via focus
– 4 new portraits ( 3 for Papacy and 1 for Jerusalem ) crafted to be as close to the vanilla visual style as possible For some reason the commander portraits won’t work, so only 3 of those 4 portraits can be seen ingame
– 21 events
– 12 decisions
Known Bugs – The commander portraits won’t work. I can’t figure out why, so if anyone has any ideas let me know.
Right now, the decision to give the Papacy core on Latium is disabled for the AI, meaning you won’t see the country outside of player-controlled playthrough. This is because the country can mess with historical(-ish) playthroughs by becomind somewhat powerful, however I can easily change this if there is some demand.
