Authors description: Hearts of Ice and Fire – a Game of Thrones mod

A total conversion that modernizes the world of Game of Thrones and bring it into the world of HoI4. Fight in the War of Five Kings, hold back the Wildlings, unite the old Valyrian lands, invade the Iron Islands or wage war against the Dothraki Khalassars. The choice is yours…

Currently in version 0.9.* ‘A Lannister Always Pays his Debts’;

CAUTION! Mod overwrites a lot of files, so be careful when mixing with other mods.

Scenario 1: A Game of Thrones

The year is 1936 and nearly twenty years have passed since Robert’s Rebellion overthrew the Mad King and established a new order in Westeros. Times are changing, however. Ever since House Stark chose to isolate itself from the politics of King’s Landing, House Lannister has positioned itself in a very comfortable position of power and many houses are feeling uneasy about this. The Dornish, in particular, have seemingly not forgotten their atrocities of the rebellion and their loyalty is very questionable. Then, there is House Tyrell, who are eager to re-establish themselves on the big scene. And, of course, there are two younger Baratheon brothers, Renly and Stannis, who also seem to have their own agenda. Will King Robert Baratheon and Hand of the King Jon Arryn be able to maintain order in Westeros?

Scenario 2: A Feast for Crows

Note: This scenario is largely experimental, but it works great for testing late-game content.

In the last few years the world has seen some major events break out in Westeros. King Joffrey now has complete control over the realm, supported by the Lannisters and the Tyrells. Roose Bolton has been declared Warden of the North and is keeping the other houses under control with an iron fist. With the Stark family fleeing to Skaagos the only glimmer of resistance comes from the remaining Tully rebels in the Riverlands. Whatever happens next will surely be bad news for the rest of Westeros.

Playable countries (with focus trees): House Lannister, House Stark, the Vale of Arryn, House Tyrell, House Tully, Principality of Dorne, House Baratheon, The Crownlands, The Night’s Watch, House Greyjoy, The House of Stannis Baratheon, House Targaryen and the Free City of Volantis.

Playable countries (without focus trees): The Free Folk, House Bolton, House Karstark, House Mormont, other Free Cities, Craster’s Keep and many more…

New system for culture and religion, giving nations unique bonuses (and penalties) to the countries.

Always be careful! The Others may lay dormant, but should they wake up and the Great Houses of Westeros don’t put aside their emnities and band together they will all die. And then it wont matter whose skeleton sits on the Iron Throne.
